Laws like these no longer exist however interracial marriage is not wholly embraced by American society.
Although the concept of interracial marriage most commonly brings to mind marriage between a black and white couple, interracial marriage has become increasingly common among couples of all races and ethnic groups.
Some experts maintain that although there appears to be a greater acceptance of interracial marriage, it is more likely that American society has become more tolerant of interacial dating rather than interracial marriage.
This claim is supported by research demonstrating much higher rates of interracial dating than interracial marriage.
All things that defer more power to the man than the women. And when they did, it was to supplement her husband’s substantially larger income. Today’s relationships run the gamut of the rainbow – heterosexual/gay, interracial/ethnic, interfaith, binational, older women and younger men, couples from widely different social, economic, political backgrounds.
Women have full fledged careers and they are financially independent.
This is especially true with regard to eliminating the racial prejudices that fostered the segregation of minorities to their own communities, businesses and social institutions.
One area of racial bias that has taken the longest to overcome in American society is interracial marriage.

Fast forward to a few weeks later when I see a barrage of online news reporting that actress Tamera Mowry-Housely was distraught over the onslaught of negative criticism surrounding her interracial marriage to Adam Housely, a white FOX News Correspondent.

, Mowry-Housely said that she has been called, “white man’s whore.” She added, “They say, ‘Oh, Tia’s a true black woman because she married a black man.’ Oh – I’m less of a black person because I married white?
